Removing Front Mount. Legal?

So I'm thinking of taking off the front plate mount of the G. Gives it a more cleaner look IMO. but anyways...i know alot of people get pulled over for not having their license plate there, but I heard if you don't have a front mount you don't have to put a front license plate. Can anyone tell me if this is true?

If a front plate is required in your state, then there is no way around that law... even if it means you'd have to drill into your bumper to mount the front plate.

its illegal, but just remove it. If you get a few tickets then put it back on.

Hey man-

I've been rollin with no front plate for about 6 months now. The cops in U-District don't seem to care about it, but I'm sure if you hit an open stretch of highway and State Patrol spots you, you may be screwed. I try to avoid I-90 between Seattle and Issaquah at all costs during the day, because State Patrol is known to hang out there, especially in the express lanes. Otherwise, if you drive around downtown Seattle a lot, nothin to worry about.

I didn't have my license plate on the front for a really long time. I really doubt anyones gonna pull you over for it, but you may get a ticket by the meter ladies, I always did.

I usually just take the front plate off. Just don't put the front plate in your dash.
When cops see that, they know for sure you were supposed to have one in your bumper and will give you the ticket.

I made sure that the dealer didn't install mine my my '05. You do know that they had to drill holes in the bumper to install the plate right. So if you take it off you will have to fill those holes.

I have been driving without a front plate since October and nothing yet (knock on wood). I think as long as you obey the rest of the laws on the road you should be fine. I have never had an problems with the highway patrol around here (or any other law enforcement for that matter).

The only states that it's legal to drive with just a rear plate in are these:

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Guam, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee

At least according to this site:
