I was just wondering if anybody knows which direction the driver seat airbag deploys during a collision? does it blow out forward protecting you from your door or does it blow backwards protecting the people behind you?

i am considering getting some sparco milano seats but i cant justify dying in a T bone accident because of a racing seat and a missing air bag.

Unfortunately...I can tell you from experience that the airbag deploys to protect you from the door.
A 4runner nailed me on the front drivers side fender and all my bag deployed. They kept my head from crashing through the window.

 

Yep, the seat airbag goes forward to protect you low, while the curtain bag comes out to protect you from the window. Very soft, I give them an A+
