Passenger side airbag

Hi..

On my 05 coupe, if there was no passenger in the seat, the "Passenger airbag off" light would come on. I thought this was really smart -- why waste the airbag deployment if nobody is there?

On my 06 coupe, that light doesn't come on unless there's "strange load" on the seat.. like somebody leaning over really far or something.

Which behavior is correct? Or was it changed for 06? Anyone know?

i think that if there is anyone under a certain weight, and i think it is 60lbs, sitting there the airbag will be turned off.

So does your "pass airbag off" light come on if there is nobody in the seat?

Off-topic but what the price difference you have to pay for trading in your 05' for an 06'?

Well I got my 05 6mt for just over invoice so I had a good deal on it. For the 06, I got it about $1,000 over invoice and the dealer gave me a good trade-in value plus some cash because we had a problem with my 05.

So, I don't think it's representative of what anyone else might get, but I basically paid about $2k out of pocket to trade up. Not an amazing deal but good enough that I took it.

Both cars were premium w/ Navi, 6mt.
