Thinking about a really nice paint job

I am considering going out on a limb here and custom painting the car.

As it stands right now, it is black on graphite loaded 6 Speed.

My buddy owns a body shop and does great work on paint jobs and I'll be there to make sure too.

Either way, I was looking for some suggestions. I want to keep a nice classy look to it, with a very transitional metallic flake in it.

I am not going to paint it orange or yellow or really any bright colors, thats just not me.

I was thinking a really nice dark metallic burgundy and when the light hits it the flake will turn it candy apple sorta. But that doesn't really match the brembos.

Whaddya' ll think?

Paint the Brembos to match, if you can get a high-temp paint in that color.

is he going to repaint the engine bay, door jams, under the trunk lid, and pretty much disasemble the body panels, wet sand the hell out of it and make it look like glass, and do it for an affordable price. if so do it. because a job like that in south florida will run you $6000 and up. here is a pick of my old car it looked maroon in the shade and candy apple in the sun.

I'd say yes.

A full out job.

I'm still up in the air about it. Seeing that a fully repainted car upon time of resale, may lead some to think the car has been hit and I am trying to cover that up.

I dunno, hard decision.

Hmmmmmmm

I think anything will look nice on the G, as long as you make sure you get Biaaatch Racing Emblems painted all over it.

Seriously though, you have a point on the resale thing. I for one would be highly suspect of a repainted G if I were in the used market for one.

How about something like the Color BRICKYARD that's on the 350Z? It looks like Black Cherry. Dark- almost Black at night, maroon during the day. Or you could always go for a Candy Apple paint job, What about brandywine color? Well good luck and post pics.....

Just take pictures of the car before, during and after painting. That should settle any damage questions.

Re: Thinking about a really nice paint job

hey dally

i'd make sure the colour hides your a$$ marks since you like to make full use of your car when your girlfriend is around! just kidding dude, if i were to do a repaint, i would definitely do daytona blue, but that's just my 2 cents. by the way dally, still don't have my car back, i'll probably get it back in another month or so

I think this is PERFECT oppurtunity for YOU to go daytona blue... which is a wicked color by the way.

Great suggestion.

Think about it, at least you may have real positive spin on it.

I'm with hiimwayne, Daytona Blue all the way

I seen a couple of 350Z with Daytona Blue and they look amazing and really standout out from the crowd.</p>

Re: Thinking about a really nice paint job

that brickyard color is really nice too.

its like a metallic burgundy red wine color.

imagine that with some gun metal volks with a high polish lip.

WICKED.

Im leaning to that setup.
