have you tried both?
Re: have you tried both?
secondchildhood,
Like many in our age bracket, I've never outgrown the need for speed.
As I've gotten older, I'm more into fast, "stealthy" cars. I love to have the ability to suprise obnoxious "boy racer" types.
My 2003 Sedan is the first auto trans car I've owned in many years. For various reasons, I decided to not wait for the Coupe or 6-speed Sedans.
Thinking I'd really screwed up, I decided to test drive a G35 Coupe, a G35 Sedan and a 350Z Track model, all with 6-speed manual transmissions.
All three were great cars. The obvious differences in power ratings, size, luxury, interior, etc. have been well covered by others.
My impressions (not facts... impressions):
All three cars had very few miles on them and surprisingly, all three seemed to have similar power.
I drove the Z last and within 5 minutes duplicated the same 3rd gear 3000 rpm pull in my Sedan. Don't laugh, but I swear my car felt stronger. (I realize the Z wasn't broken in... but there's supposed to be a 27 HP & 14 ft/lbs torque difference.)
Ride and handling inpressions (again, not facts... impressions):
Neither the G35 Coupe or Sedan had the sports suspension. I found both G's ride more luxurious than my Sedan's with the sport suspension. The Z's ride seemed similar to my Sedan's.
Due to traffic, I couldn't properly test the handling of these cars. So, based on normal (and a little agressive) driving situations the Coupe and Sedan seemed very similar. The Z's handling seemed closer to my Sedan's. The Z's turning radius was the shortest. Surprisingly, the Coupes seemed the longest.
The Z and Coupe are definitely not stealthy. Everyone expects these cars to be fast and handle well.
The Sedan isn't stealthy. Few people expect it to be as fast or handle as well as it does.
My conclusion. I don't think I screwed up. I've decided to keep my Sedan and continue with my modification plans. My goal, as close to a 4-door Z as possible, with over 250 RWHP N/A.
In summary, I believe a grey headed old man in a performance modified Desert Platinum G35 Auto Sedan is indeed stealthy.

Re: have you tried both?
personally, i'm a 6mt person. did test the z but found the interior not functionally designed. the G has somewhat of a backseat which i need.
my fiance says i should get the sedan because of extra room, but she has minivan and likes bigger cars.
even though i had no intention of buying Z, did so to check out tranny on G. dealer recommended i do so.
