After the accident i couldn't do anything for the car so we donated it and we will get a nice tax discount this year. BTW, it wasn't a G, i'm planning on getting a G but not right now i have enough stuff to think about, plus it would seem weird getting a $35000 car just to drive it 4 miles a day, we'll see what changes

Well i do keep a mag Flash light under the seat.... so that can serve a good purpose.

I'm really dissapointed in the factory alarm especially when it didnt go off when the car was hit. So i;m considering getting another alarm with motion sensors on it.

Anyone know if that can be done to G35 ....adding an additional alarm to the car while still using the same remote?

when i had a 2000 Infiniti i30, it was keyd all over. I went to a bar and some *** decided to do it to me. for what i dont know... but i had insurance pay out for the respraying of the entire car.

Now with accident and a few other hit and runs sustained over the year to all different cars, my insurance can drop me for high risk. this is just sucks.

You can put some nice after-market alarms in it. As for keeping the same remote? Not so sure... I got a CodeAlarm TW-1 system. It's got a two-way paging LCD display remote. If someone hit my car, not only would the alarm go off, but I'd know right away if I were within a mile of it. Also comes with remote-start and auto-start (if the temp gets under 0 in the engine compartment, or above a set temp. in the passenger cabin, it starts and cools/warms). Pretty handy...

I think Pioneer's auto alarm branch makes a similar one. You can do anything from a regular alarm to a full-blown, extra module 2-way paging system. I've had three cars hit while I wasn't there, and so far with the G, any time someone just taps the door, I can come right to it and usually catch the perpetrator looking at my car trying to see a dent.

if it makes you feel any better, my g coupe got rear ended 2 months after i got it by some biatch driving an oversized SUV

this happened june 1st, and i still don't have my car back, don't expect to get it back until the end of september (long story)

how much was this alarm. and how long is the install.
i know some of these things can go up in price till like 1000. i was looking for something good but not sure if i need the lcd thing. seem like a lot to carry around.

i'm gonna look into it but i hope i dont void the warantee on the car by putting in an aftermarkter alarm.

OK after looking at the damage you got to your car..... mine seems like a door ding compare to yours. I took pics of mine and will upload them tomorrow.

I cant imagine the amount of time and money its gonna take to get that car back to normal. I would sell that car or trade it in for a new one.... that much damage will forever mess up the car.

myG- I got kind of a good deal. The TW-2 is a step down, not as many modules available, etc. so that's what I ordered. The guy was out of stock, but had already promised me a $400 total for the alarm AND install, so said he'd honor it with the next best, which happened to be the top of the line.

The install is honestly about 2-4 hours, depending on your installer. What complicated mine was that a temp sensor wire was torn by accident, and he had to go through the firewall to hook up to a tach sensor, so it took him about 7 hours total. He still only charged me for a less expensive alarm and 2 hours of install. I lucked out.

You can get one, installed, for about $500 in most areas. Also, try getting a Pioneer brand (it goes under a diff subsidiary name at CC) at Circuit city, and they'll install it for free. Granted, they charge you $400 for the alarm, but like I said to my sister when she said I was being overprotective-- a $400 investment to protect a $40,000 investment isn't too bad of a deal to me.
