Re: G35 vs EVO
I think highly of the Evo, well not that highly, the evo was designed to attract kids, and some ricers. The evo won't last long since it runs 19.5 boost on stock internals, i mean 10 boost is safe but 19.5 is too big. Plus the evo's interior looks like it was made up at 3am i mean those back seats weren't really comfortable. ANd the evo weighs 3260lbs while the G coupe weighs about 3500lbs. I wanted an Evo too, but at what price??? I mean that engine won't live very long and the rice wing in the back isn't helping and did anybody see those back lighs, eww! The evo is a nice car but it doesn't look like a lot of time was put into it, i can get a stock lancer and put a turbo on it and all the little crap and it would blow the evo away easy. The G is refined, reliable, comfortable, what else you want?

Re: G35 vs EVO
There are two type of people on the street
1. Drivers.
2. Poseurs.
Some people only care their appearance.
Which type is canadian idol I let you guys figure it out.
(sorry not intending to offend anyone. if my attitude offends you I am sorry but that's just the way I am. ) =(

Re: G35 vs EVO
It depends on what you want. The Coupe is the classier, more luxurious ride.
The Evo (and the new STi as well) will rape it in raw performance. The catch is, it costs nearly as much as a coupe, and there's no luxury to it. On a dirt rally, though, the Mitsu and Suby just rule.
I find that I don't spend much time on dirt tracks, though.
I wouldn't mind having one as a weekend car. But since I can only have one, I'll keep the G.

Re: G35 vs EVO
Not offended bobm3. Like the song says: "I'm a driver. I'm a poser. I'm a Canadian Hoser."
Most people would like to think of themselves as "drivers" but let's face it - posing is part of the game. If it wasn't - why do we care so much about our cars - and what they represent to us? And the EVO - I'm sure can kick it hard - but that car,to me, also screams "poser" - but it's frankly just not the way I like to pose. I really don't care that it can beat a G- my whole point is that the slight performance I give up by opting for a G - I make up for in spades in all-around looks, beauty and composure. Again - for the last time - it is MY opinion. I hope that people in the free-world are allowed their opinions still.
BTW - I love the M3 but its a different breed of car altogether and I wouldn't really put it in the same class range as these two cars. It's not a fair comparison. I tell you what though - that's where my argument for the G actually starts turning in my favor - for a decent price - a G can compete in many ways luxury/build wise to a BMW yet can still keep up with beefed-up cars like the EVO without compensation. Not a bad medium to be in if you ask me or most other G drivers.
There are many things in life more important than racing an EVO or trying to outshine an M3.

Re: G35 vs EVO
Bah, rally is a type of race. What next, downhill skiing has racers but cross-country skiing has rally-ers?
Also, I'm not the hugest WRC fan, but hasn't the EVO been a non-contender the last few years, and the STI has been getting consistently beaten by Peugeots and Citroens?
