I just got my 06 G35 coupe in Ivory Pearl. I noticed my bumpers are slightly different color than the body of my car. I bought it brand new and as far as I know it's all original paint. Has anyone else noticed a different in color of their g35 from the body to the bumpers?

 

Yes, mine was (Laser Red). It's not that unusual. I fixed mine by sliding off the road and tearing up the bumper cover. It took the body shop two attempts to get it right, but now it looks much better than it did from the factory. BTW, anybody looking for a slightly scratched front wheel?

 

It's not just the G. It is the properties of the plastic bumper and the flex additive which is added to the paint to keep it from cracking on the plastic.

I've noticed it on many vehicles but nothing can be done short of repaint although over time the plastic will probably start to change hue again.

Kind of on the same lines: -
One reason Infiniti has a TSB regarding tire dressings with silicones is because it will stain the paint. From what I've researched even if the bumper is removed, prepped, and repainted the stains that were there may still come back out through the paint since the plastic basically soaked it in.
