was racing an rx7 FD last night, doing about 130 on the BQE (NYC) and all of a sudden in 4th gear, car jers back rpms raise to 7 thousand, bam tranny [censored] up service engine light went on and AT CHECK light went on, i didnt have any gears!!! rpm's never lower when i switch gears, only had 1st gear. drove home at 20mph...wtf is this bullshit?!

Auto or Manual? Need more info but it sounds like you may have overheated and it went into default mode. Try resetting the ECM and drive afterwards. Good luck.

I don't mean to be a dick but what the hell are you doing racing a rx7 FD?????
I'm somewhat familiar with them and those things weigh 700lbs less than a G35 coupe, plus it's rare to find a stock one, those things adopt to mods like we do to water, just by changing exaust those things run 13 flat. They do have 280hp stock but as I said before it's really difficult to find a stock one, good luck fixing your car

well doesn't seem like all is lost since you could still go in 1st gear. If your tranny actually blew you probably couldn't go at all. Maybe the ecu reset will help. If it does you might wanna invest in a tranny cooler. Good luck

Your lucky it didn't cause you to crash. I have no sympathy for people who do this......you drive like this then accept the consequences. Must of been driving pretty hard for this to happen to an automatic. Hopefully the trans can be fixed.
