OFFICIAL ’07 G35 Sedan details & analysis from SZM: Apr 12, noon EST
Sport Z Magazine has the scoop on the new 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan (which should provide many clues as to what the upcoming Coupe will look like as well). One slight problem: we cannot release this information until the car’s unveiling at the New York International Auto Show, which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 12, at noon EST (9 a.m. Pacific). At that time, www.sportzmagazine.com will have complete coverage of the new G, including photos, a full article detailing all of the major changes, and an exhaustive analysis of the car by SZM’s G35 Editor Dave Ochenreider.
From 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST (11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Pacific) on the 12th, G35 Editor Dave Ochenreider will be online here at G35driver (Sedan forum) to discuss and answer questions (when possible), offer opinions, and provide any additional information we’ve managed to dig up on the all-new G.
Also coming Wednesday on www.sportzmagazine.com: the unveiling of Sport Z Magazine’s Summer 2006 cover and table of contents. The Summer ’06 edition marks the first time the magazine has ever featured a G35 as its lead cover image. G35-related articles in our upcoming issue include a twin turbo Coupe feature (cover car), affordable aftermarket big brake kits (installed and street tested on a Sedan), a performance driving Q&A from our motorsports editor, and continued coverage of the 2007 G35 Sedan.
As for any sneak peek photos on the 2007 G35, I apologize. I will say this: the changes are dramatic both in the sheetmetal and in the cockpit. Expect to see many styling cues on the Sedan--interior and exterior--translate to the Coupe. While Infiniti and Nissan North America have released lots of information on the new G to the press on an embargoed basis, what’s notable is what they are not releasing (as was/is the case with the early non-finalized editions of the 350Z and GT-R). Final engine horsepower and torque numbers, as well as vehicle weight and exterior colors, will NOT be released Wednesday.
While we wait impatiently for the unveiling, we will leave you with this. Edmunds (not Sport Z, mind you) is reporting: “Powered by a 300-plus-horsepower 3.5-liter V6, Infiniti's 3 Series fighter will take its first bow in New York. Continuing the march toward providing more and more do-it-for-you gear, the G35 will offer touchscreen navigation and a rearview monitor. Infiniti’s Intelligent Key system ensures the G35 starts with the push of a button.” What is perhaps more interesting, at least to SZM, is what Edmund’s did not report, which was in bold and underlined on the press release that the above information came from: “Embargoed until Wednesday, April 12 at 12:00 pm.”
See you all Wednesday….
