This brings up an interesting detail about the G concept... ...it has a glass-panel roof. I know that's still a little too concept-car for today, but it does have me wondering if Nissan has something interesting in store for us that works better with the coupe's short/steep roof. Afterall, Nissan is the company that produced a minivan with multiple glass panels running the length of the roof.

I had a Limited Edition '83 280ZX Turbo (back in '88, so still pretty new) that had glass T-tops. Very cool on and very cool removed... ...but 2nd degree burns on a sunny day if you weren't extremely careful taking them off. I had to slip them directly into their bags, like a hot pizza or something. But at 17, that was a small price to pay for such a fly ride. It had leather, a digital dash, the talking lady, glass t-tops, turbo... ...a true early-80's limited edition kind of ride.

The targa was a nice feature to have but with it off, the body did flex quite a bit and if you installed it wrong (ie. on a uneven surface) the sides would leak a little.

I'd rather have a convertable hatch back and boomarang antenna G35 Coupe/3rd door rx-8 style, than a targa top. haha

Retractable Top

Since you are talking about roofs, while test driving at an Infiniti dealer this past weekend, the rep, who seemed very knowledgable, claims Infiniti has definite plans for a hard top retractable g35 model to hit US in about 2 years.. about 9 months or so after the unveiling of the next G35 body style.

He said they tried to make it work with existing roof geometry but can't. Some of you might know more about this than I, just passing on what the rep said.. and I dont think he was just blowing smoke.

Sorry Kid, but the NSX-T was only available from 1995-2005. I currently own a 1994 NSX and I also had a 1997 NSX-T. Btw, there's only one manufacturer with a "targa". Porsche has the trademark.

Fortunately not too many owners have reported leaks.
