Bear with me if this has been asked. (Searched the archives etc, etc)

I have 20" JLines (8.5" front and 10" rear) and want to add a full KenStyle kit. It took me 2 months to get them, so I'm a bit attached. Does anyone have the kit and 20's? Yes, I have the disease and engine mods are next.

(Some pics don't show for me here. I just see a box w/thumbnail notation. Click & nothing. I hate being such a girl, bear w/me guys)

What kind of Jlines you got? Style (just wondering), offset, & tire size?

With the info you put up, it should not be a problem for most bodykits. I assume you are on stock suspension right now? I would definitely go with suspension (drop) to finish things out w/ the rims & body kit. 20's fill out nice, but IMO it is a borderline must drop. And w/ a body kit, no doubt a must. Though of course... it's your car.

 

Having 20" or 19" won't make a difference on the kit.How much of a drop will make a difference.The front & side skirts hang much lower than oem.Too low and you scrap the side skirts on speed bumps.

 

WYSIWYG- My JLines are SDMSL2. Offset and tire size I'll have to dig up. I saw them on an Avalon at SEMA. It's been raining here forever, so I don't have many pics. I'll try to post some this weekend.

caskyline-ty for the picture. Prettypretty car. When the wheels originally went on, they stuck out 1/2"-ish from the body and I didn't want anyone rolling anything. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist and if I'm going to invest in the kit, it's gotta be perfect. (My little bro says I need to learn how to do fiberglass...lol)

This is a daily driver on a highway that has a ton of potholes. Lowering makes me nervous.

Nice choice! Personally, was looking into the same set when the Jlines hit the market. What color did you get?

When you say that they stuck out 1/2" from the body... what exactly do you mean. I assume you mean that it sticks out 1/2" from the lower skirts not the wheel fenders right? That would be some crazy offsets w/ the width of the rims at 8.5 and 10 inches.

If you don't want to drop the car, then I think your main concern will be the offset and size of tires on your wheels. The rears should be fine regardless and help get rid some or all of the 1/2" you're concerned about. W/ 8.5" in the front, assuming you have a moderate offset, you shouldn't have any problems either.
