Test pipes = serives engine soon .. help

Hello guys,

I just installed my APS 2.5'' test pipe and HKS exhaust. After driving for 4 hour, the Check engine light pops up due to the test pipes.
My question is, how can I remove the check engine light 4 ever( Just for the test pipe) thanks

A local auto Zone or similar place will clear those for free. Or you could buy the computer yourself (a little handheld thinggy) and do it yourself.

Try and ECU reset found HERE-- The 'Pedal Method' should reset the MIL.

What code will you throw with the test pipe?? I have hi flow cats and i'm throwning a code p1283. If test pipes are throwing the same codes than ill go with the non-fouler.

If you reset your ECU - whether by pedal or battery method - and the light comes back on - you'll need to the non-foulers. At AutoZone you'll the the HELP 42002 Non Foulers - and you'll have to reset the ECU again. All should be fine again.

Also remember - testpipes are designed for off road use - so if the light comes on - kind of too bad - you asked for it anyways....I have headers, testpipes and catback etc...no non-foulers and never a CEL issue - must be lucky - but I've heard that 05's are that way...anyone else know this to be true?

no its not true. I have 05 with kinetix cats and I'm throwing a cel p1283. If anyone with test pipe can get a obd2 scanner and find out the code, please let me know.

Are you using non-foulers at all? That's the only fix I know of when this happens...Rick

I no it fixes the problem with test pipes, but I don't want to drill out my hf cats and still have the cel come back if the test pipe ppls aren't getting the same code as mine. I'm just trying to figure out if it's the same problem as mine.

I got ya...why would you have to drill out the cats though?
