Pretty cool. I didnt like it it first cuz I just thought they should have an ipod adapter with steering wheel controls but this will be cool if you can organize the music on and especially it it displays the names of songs on the nav.

The question is: will ths harddrive do more than music?

I want a HDD based, 3G/Edge linked Nav system capable of real time map/traffic report. Also, if we were to have a HDD, might as well have one that plays more than MP3's, Mpeg4, Divx, Xvid, Mpeg, WMV, Wav......... Basicly, give us something similar to Windows Media player without using any codes from Microsoft. (Microsoft = blue screen = unhappy customers)

How much could that possible cost to integrate into the nav?

Hmm, in the photos released by Infiniti, it shows a slot to put a CF card in. That is great feature! Auto makers should be faster to incorporate new technology like adding readily accessible AUX input options, like DVD-R (for mp3's or vids), flash media, or RCA/ipod jacks.

I'd be happy with just a native ipod hookup.. I would get tired of having to manage 2 libraries of music, 1 for the car and then 1 for everything else... If my mp3 player used memory cards then having memory cards for use in your car would be great, but most people have ipods. The card readers probably for updates on the nav though.. cool concept though...

I installed an Omnifi 20GB hard-drive based music player in my G35. It had a wireless antenna so that it could connect up with your computer in your house and automatically sync songs at night while parked in the garage.

The unit's concept was very good but the interface was terrible. Too bad because the faceplate fit so nicely in the hinged cubby cover.

were you able to close the cover after installing it? And did you set up play lists on your computer that were transferred onto the hard drive like you do with itunes?

Nice set up by the way.. at least it looks nice...
