Hey guys,
I just came back from the dealer today- I had gotten the oem spoiler installed a month ago) Anyway I went in because there was a rattling noise coming from inside the spoiler and they fixed it right away. SO I asked about the diffusers and the trunk shocks. They showed me where they were installed. And they said yes they are supposed to install both items when you get a spoiler. The diffuser are underneath the car right behind your rear tires. The trunk shocks are actually the gas cylinder things when you open the trunk. (not suspension wise shocks).

Wait, wait, wait!

<noobie>

You can get the underbody diffusers added after? The bastards at my dealership said they couldn't install them. My '06 6MT didn't have an aero package, and I said I wanted one. They said they can do the spoiler, but not the diffusers...that had to be from factory. I personally thought that was BS, but I don't have the Infiniti logo on my shirt, so I guess I thought they knew what they were talking about...

Man, I have to bring my car in to get the spoiler put on...should I demand the diffusers? Or just talk nicely to the tech?

BlackSunshineX,

If you paid for the aero package you should make them install the diffusers as well if you've already paid for it.

My car didn't come with the aero package but I wanted it. I had the price included when I bought the car and they agreed to order and install the spoiler and diffusers later. When I went for the install they only had the spoiler and said they couldn't install the diffusers and you only get those if the aero packages is on the car from the factory. When I bought the car I made sure my salesman knew I wanted the diffusers as well and he assured me they would be included. Of course he was conviently missing when I went for th install. I wouldn't give in they agreed to install the diffusers as well but they would have to order them. I think they were thinking/hoping I would forget. Every time I called about them they would have some excuse. Usually they would tell me they were on back order. 6 months later they finally caved and installed them for me.

Does anyone have a pic of these "upgraded" shocks and diffusers? I want to know if the dealer replaced mine when i got the spoiler.

My shocks just say Nissan Stabilus on them. Is that right?

I installed a set on my G35X last year from EverythingG35. It was kinda expensive for what you get but it was complete. The install was so easy I did not even have to jack up the car.

I'm amazed Nissan bothers to have two different sets of trunk shocks based on whether there is a spoiler or not.

All honda and toyota are like that too, dont know for other.

It's one of the reason factory spoiler cost the double of aftermarket.

There are also seals that goes between most of the factory spoiler and trunk.

I remember someone with a honda prelude and they had to replace the "torsion rod" for the trunk because there were no shocks for these models. This sure add to spoilers cost...
