Mod bug dead?
Maybe they do consider him in the air freshner and tinited window category. But everyone who modded their car didnt throw 100 mods on their car in 2 days so they wouldnt be in that category.
Like I said before you have to start somewhere.

Is the mod bug installed at the secret headquarters of the "Modificus Insecta Society" (most likely located somewhere in California, or perhaps Idaho) by an 80 year old CRX enthusiast?
Or is it something you buy at grubb's infiniti?
The whole question of whether he had a "mod bug" to begin with just sounds like an irrelevant question... as if he has to qualify to have the mod bug or something... buncha weirdos
I don't really like to personally mess with my car except with small things like regular maintenence and easy mods. And with this car, the only "mod" i did stringing up leather steering wheel cover. That was a pain, but not much you can screw up. Well, that and the Z-tube and amsoil panel filter, but that was so ridiculously easy, I don't even dare call it a mod, lest the mod bug moderators come and pwn my hopes and dreams.
I wouldn't give up OP. Return that defective unit, and fix up the problem that it caused. You'll feel that much more attached to the car, unless you're losing work and money because of it. But then you'll be sad when you sell your car and find out you're going to get less than a 30% return for your investment in mods (assuming you don't take it off to sell it beforehand).
The obsession with car was never a money-wise choice... it's all about the warm and fuzzies you get when you get into your car and start it up in the morning (or afternoon, or night).

I dont think this should neccessarily let your mod bug die, Ive been modding cars since i was 16 and ive fvcked so much stuff up it is unbeliveable, but i took what happened and learned from it and it will never happen again.
What fun is having a car if you dont mod it anyways :P

When I first had my car, there just weren't too many G35 coupes around...it has changed of course. They are everywhere. A little modding keeps your car special for you. You don't have to mod heavily to appreciate your car even more. I modded because I felt there were improvements that a slight investment in cash could fix. I added the Grounding Gear grounding kit so that my shifts were smoother and a MD 5/16" spacer to alleviate the lack of breathing at the high rpms. Now my car shifts smoother and feels better after 4k
I also have a higher appreciation for my car now since I did the work

Ok...its a new day and I am not frustrated anymore. One of the reasons I was saying all this was because I thought I was gonna have to put my car back together not have the unit in there. That pissed me off. Now that Im sick my car can sit in garage for a couple days until the thing arrives.
And to the guy with the "real mod bug" sorry but I dont have 10 g's laying around to put into my car. My $$ goes to gas and occasionally a small mod whn I can spare the dough. I said the mod bug because if I had the extra money I would go mod crazy like you. I have a lot of things I want to do in the future when I can afford it. Sorry I'm not a "balla" like you.
edit: Also, another big part of what I was saying is because of my dad. I really dont think hes gonna let me do a lot of things when he sees my 40k car ripped apart for half a week and the usa spec thing not working. He doesnt even think I will be able to put it all back right....but I will.

Like I said early this is my opinion. Everyone has their own, but this one is mine.
If you feel this way after having problems with a pa11-nis then you couldn't handle going all out.....YOU HAVE NO IDEA THE HEADACHES YOU WILL DEAL WITH AFTER GOING ALL OUT!
Good night and don't let the mod bug bite.

Edit: And once again...I dont have the money now to back up my problems. Thats why I cant go all out. Do you think I would worry about this if I had money?? If something goes wrong then I could afford to fix it. Now I can't. Simple as that.

Having the mod bug is nothing to be proud off. Your car is the worst investment ever and then to dump load of money into it......NOT VERY SMART! I am stupid for modding, but it makes me happy.

I will never sell this car. Not worth it. I will just move on to another car in the next couple of years and just let this one sit in the garage and drive it every now and then.
