06MT breaking it in
Do i really need to break the car in? The people at the dealership said no, but they are probably lying. Are there any do's and don'ts? Is there anything i should expect? Most ppl say its around 1000 miles is the break in. This my second week of it and i have 350 miles on it. Should the car be a little slow during this period? I stay in New Orleans and i be scared to drive around cause of all the nails and crap b/c all the construction due to the hurricane.
Manual states Don't go over 4k RPM's for the first 1200 miles.
Check out that section, their is some more info on it as well.
I got about 100 miles so I'm taking it easy

there are many varying opinions on this.
there are quite a few ppl that have broken in their cars by doing the exact opposite - revving/redlining the heck out of it for the first 1000 miles. they claim to then have driven it without any abnormal issues over 200,000 miles. i did the same to an older nissan i bought and never had any issues (up to 55k miles before i sold it).
as for the G, i try to follow the 4000 rpm rule but give it a go every once in a while. i plan to change out the oil after 1000 miles also.
