It's only a car right?

In the last week my car has been hit twice the second one has made the car un-drivable. The first accident was at the wonderful National Hurricane Conference in Orlando. The G was parked in the parking garage of the hotel (which the spaces are way too small) and someone hit the rear bumper on the driver’s side and took off. So to say the least I was not happy and went and spoke with the hotel management but to no avail, because they are not liable for any property in the parking garage.

However the second accident has made the first one a moot point. Yesterday I was driving to a meeting and actually made it to the parking lot of where the meeting was being held. While driving in the parking lot someone blew through a stop sign and nailed me. Where you might ask, well it was on the driver’s side rear bumper, rear tire, and quarter panel. My rim is ruined and it is tilted at an angle, the rear quarter panel is damaged, and the bumper is hanging barley hanging on. The best part is the lady in her 80s Ford F-150 took off, so a hit and run.

Luckily Infiniti Roadside assistance towed the G to the nearest Infiniti dealership, which was 40 miles away in Tampa. The rough estimate without taking the wheel off is 4-6 thousand dollars and it could be more especially since the vehicle has rear active steering. Oh and one other thing I was told it will take 2-3 weeks to get the car fixed.

Wow... two hit and runs in a week!??! WTF are people thinking these days. I'm really sorry to hear this and hopefully the car will be fixed properly. Is your insurance gonna cover this? I really hope that you can find that bitch in F150 and make her pay.

damn sorry to hear..........things will get better in the future

Were the police even hopeful in catching the lady?

Damn that sucks, but when my coupe was smashed in the rear, they basically had to rebuild the whole thing from the rear seats to the end.

Not only that, my G took 3.5 months to fix. All that time, I drove a rented grand am from the ins co, which was public humiliation and the seats had no back support giving me distintive back pain.

All went away once I got my car back.

you just made me cry.

speedracerg35 Apr 21, 2006 04:47 PM

good luck getting it fixed. hope it doesn't take too long, but if i were you i wouldn't bet on getting the car back in 2 to 3 weeks. sorry to hear about the bad luck.

OMG....

The filthy wench drove off after nailing you that bad? I think I would have probably got out and ran after her on foot to try to get her license plate number.

The public sucks, F@ck hope!

I'm real sorry to hear about both of your unfortunte accidents.

People with no character...

People who hit run are lame. No pride in taking responsibilities for their actions. Hopefully the repairs will only take as long as estimated.

Man that is awful... people have no respect for anything anymore. I hope that both of those people get whats coming to them. I could never hit & run, i would feel terrible.

You carry a glock so you could shoot people that attempt to run away? Interesting...

you can at least stop them... aka shoot tires.

That sucks

Unfortunately, it is probably just as well, she most likely didn't have insurance and you couldn't pay for the damage selling what she had. But, it still sucks, hope they find her. Did you get the licence number?
