Question Anyone know this car? Should I buy it?

I've wanted a G35 for a long time and found an interesting example on eBay. It's in Orlando, 4 hours north of me, and appears to be a good deal. It's $26,100 for a 2005 model with less than 5000 miles on it. See below:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

The eBay item number is 4632687361 in case the link doesn't work.

I've talked to the dealer and have a contract to buy the car contingent on a final inspection which I'll do on Saturday. The title history shows registration in Palm Beach county in May 2005 and then traded in late in the year. Apparently there's not a scratch on it and otherwise has no problems.

I would love to hear your thoughts. It's way below trade-in value on kbb.com and I am excited about the potential to get such a deal. I wanted the 6MT but couldn't pass up on the price of this one. It is at least the color I wanted.

Anything in particular I should be looking for (apart from the obvious test drive and such) when I go to pick it up on Saturday?

Wow, great deal!

I would run a VIN check on it i.e. CARFAX. If it is clean--no accidents and such then it would be an absolute steal for 26-27K. Even if there was something minorly wrong with it the warranty would take care of it. So don't worry, just do the VIN check and be happy you got a great deal. I think Carfax is $20 or so.

The dealer ran the check on autocheck.com (Experian's service) and sent me a copy of it. It's all clear.

nice deal, would have loved to pick up the G for that price. Just remember it is a buyer beware market. Make sure you have a mech. look at the car as well. Best of luck.

Dear Mambomobster,

This is my first e-mail ever on this site! I'm not too savvy with computers and get just a little time at the library.

To your ? definitely get a CARFAX!! I would ? why it's below did you KBB? Maybe I'm little parnoid but you never know!! (I'm 52 ask your parents or older sibilings alnd also a mechanic of yours)

Can you tell me if I'm doing this correct? How do you send an e-mail to everyone?

Good Luck Mambomonster!! Let me know about your car?!

I just got an 06 G35 Athens Blue and I have red-hair so the color is what you younger generation say "Awesome!!"

this is not 2005.. although it has 2005 headlights and taillights.. the interior trim is 2006.. 2006 does not have cassette player as u can see in the pics, it does not.. the speedometer is 2006 style..

i think u should carfax it to see the true year of this car and if it's been into any accidents..

nd this person doesn't have any feedbacks.. so i would watch out for him.. he might be a scammer

That's a good deal... It was from a Ford dealer and they probably would have taken it to an auto auction and sold it for around that, saves them money to sell it on ebay. Walk away if you have doubts when you see it in person. Congrats...

05 and 06's have the same interior. It changed from 04-05... but the wheels do look like 03's

It is every guy's favorite G35- the stripper car. From the pics, it is indeed a 2005 but it does not have the Premium Package or a moonroof. There are probably no options at all so the MSRP was around $32,800 brand new so $26k is actually quite a nice price for a 5000-mile used car. As for the wheels, all the base AT G35 coupes have them (from 03-06) unless they opted for the sport package. Hope that helps.

As I mentioned, I have the full autocheck.com printout from Experian. It shows VIN, title history, accident check, etc. I suspect it's as good as Carfax, but maybe I'll get one of those too just to be sure.

You guys are scaring me with all of the comments about it having the wrong wheels and interior. I'd appreciate confirmation from someone who is really sure.

Thanks in advance for all of the replies.
