Question about tire pressure and tire
Question about tire pressure and tire
Ok, so I did a search and couldnt really come up with the right answer I was looking for.
My rear tires are totally bald now[i've driven 27,000 miles on the first pair, I know.. I drive like a grandpa] Anyways, I just ordered some toyo proxes tr1 for the rear.
A) Will it be a problem that I will be running different tires? The OEM ones in the front and the toyos in the back?
B) When I get the tires installed, how do I go about installing the tire pressure monitoring system back in?
Just needed some help guys, thanks.

I just had my rear tires replaced today. The fronts are still the original Pilots, and on the back I had GoodYear F1 DS-G3s installed. I haven't had any problems with the mixed tires yet. No TPM or VDC issues so far.
I had my tires installed at a local tire shop, but they apparently had no problem reinstalling the tire pressure sensors. I thought the sensors were in the wheels anyway, so tires shouldn't cause any problems with them.

ok, I thought the trm was in the tire. Thanks for clearing that up.

C.
TPMS sensors are attached/part of the tire valve. When they dismount and remount the tires they do not touch the tmps. With tires its recommended you keep axle sets the same, so you're in the clear.

JUST MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM YOU HAVE THE TPS!!!!!!!! They will dismount those tires and snap off those expensive TPS's!
The only problem you MIGHT encounter is handling, it may be a little funny in hard turns. But you said you drive like grandma so....
BTW, I got 22K out of mine, I could have gone longer.
