G35 Coupe - Drivers Wanted

So here's the deal. My boss has a 350Z and he auto crosses once a month or so. He has invited me out to the drag strip to go head to head against my '04 AT coupe. I realize I am at a disadvantage, but I want to give it a good show. I don't auto cross or anything like that (but I have a funny feeling this will get me going). At any rate, should I shift at the red lines for my best run? VDC on or off?

Thanks for tips on me breaking my cherry.

slash that muhfuh's tires!

then you can tell him he can be the boss, but you'll be his daddy.

no, don't do that. just have a good time, and kick his ****! but not badly, or you won't get the promotion.

Doesn't your boss feel ashamed that his employee has a better car than he does?

Hahha!

Don't slash his tires. Here's a better tip: WD-40 his tires. It's natural to have a can of WD at the track (protecting your hoses, right? ) so no one will suspect a thing...until it's too late.

Be prepared to point and laugh at him when his tires just slip at launch time.

Good luck and have some fun.

1. Install a 100 shot nitrous kit but don't tell your boss.
2. Tell him you will race him for best of 5 runs.
3. Let him win the first 2 runs.
4. Bet him to double your salary if you win the next three.
5. Spray on the next three runs.
6. Enjoy your doubled salary.

hahaha....i also like Monkey's plan.. But hey...u better drive slow and good

if u drive like a newbie, he won't respect u.
if u drive like a pro, he will start to hate u.

u have a better or a same level car with him already, sure, it doesn't mean anything in the surface. but u never know what he's thinking

Him autocrossing won't really give him an advantage at the drag strip. While I don't own a G so I don't know how the AT shifts, I'd let it do the shifting for you. Practice a couple of starts before the event so you know how much (if any) wheel spin you'll get. More than likely, you'll put your foot to the floor and keep it there until you cross the line.

Perhaps a little VHT on your tires and a bag of ice on your intake manifold.

VCD off, rev to 2500, take off and don't look back. I raced a newer silver 350z the other day out here by my office. He had aftermarket exhaust and 6mt. We both took off and I had a slightly better launch and a buddy in the car. We were flying through the shifts and although I was slightly ahead to begin with, we were not pulling on each other all the way until we let off at 100. Hope there are no Microsoft Z owners here, cuz it was right outside of my office.

So you'll do fine! Good luck.
