I've never had the pleasure of owning a car with a BBK, so I always dress my stock brakes up in a modest color (read: not yellow or red) to keep them looking clean. My Eclipse brakes were black with silver decals and our Maxima is the same. They definitely don't pop out and say "hey look at my stock brakes" but also look much better than "dirty old caliper" color.

Went with silver this time with black decals. eBay had the best pricing on the G2 kit which has held up well in my past applications. xenonmods.com for a brake decal set including logos and text for $8 shipped.

You caught me skimping in this dept. What I've been doing with brake decals is applying them about 45 minutes after painting. At that point the paint is not completely set, but just has a slight hint of tackiness (and I mean very slight). I press each letter of the decal in with decent pressure to get the decal somewhat embedded into the paint.

I had 2yrs on my Eclipse using this method and they looked like new. Clear coating would definitely be more appropriate to keep them looking good long term. I did spend 10 minutes with each brake wire brushing them as clean as possible followed by brake cleaner spray.

did you have to remove the whole caliper to do that?

how hard is this to do? i'd love to cover up the ugly caliper color . sounds like a good summer project. how much did you spend on paint as well?

even though it looks better than the ugly stock brakes...the fronts are really busy on that tiny caliper with the letters as if it was meant to be applied on a large caliper.

i wouldn't imitate a BBK by trying to make the stock brakes look similar. i'd probably just buy the bbk if i wanted a nice set of brakes. not my cup of tea, sorry.
