True dual exhaust

Is it me, or does anyone else really want the true dual exhaust that the coupe owners get? I mean, even the Altima 3.5 gets the dual exhaust. I know Stillen is making a true dual exhaust, but it is only going to exit on the same side. I know there are reasons why no one has done it yet, but I had my Sedan on my lift today, and I was looking at it. It can be done. I have the aero kit on my vehicle. If an aftermarket company were to make a rear skirt like the one that comes with the aero kit, except with two cutouts, then we would be all set! Nothing ricey, just like the factory one. All they have to do is route the exhaust to a two chamber muffler on the left side, then route a pipe back over to the opposite side. That way, we don't need to disturb the underbody diffuser (where a second muffler would have gone if it weren't there). They could incorporate two pipes all the way back. If anyone has any suggestions, maybe we could come up with something and propose it to a company (ie Stillen, borla, etc). I WANT MY DUAL EXHAUST!! It looks sooooo goood.

khsonic03,

Is the "underbody diffuser" you referred to the black cover ("aero panel") opposite the stock muffler's location?

If so, I may have a reason, if not "the reason", no one is building a system with an exhaust outlet or muffler on both sides of the car. Under that panel is the fuel vapor canister/overflow system. I don't know about you, but I don't want any hot exhaust system parts near that area of my car.

Re: True dual exhaust

The altima only has dual mufflers. Take a look under the car and it has a single pipe which splits right at the rear wheels.

Just like DaveO said, you won't see any sedan dual muffler dual exhaust systems. But you will see a true dual into a single muffler from stillen in the short term and Injen is said to be creating their own as we speak. Borla offered to, but not enough interest could be generated for them to proceed.

I'm working to create my own true dual, since I have a special custom Y-pipe with high flow cats pipes. I just have to decide if I really want a true dual or not.

Re: True dual exhaust

I think Infiniti missed the boat on this one ... this car should have dual exhaust even if only for appearance sake. I hate the exhaust setup on the sedan. I don't like how you can see the exhaust hanging down... really cheezy for a 30+K car
