ABS self-check noise at take off

hey guys, i know the abs does a self-check at take off and makes a grinding noise for about 2 seconds. however, sometimes when i happen to brake right after take off, the brake pedal needs to be pushed in deeper, it doesnt bite as hard, and it makes that grinding noise. but this only happens once in a while at take off, does anybody else have this problem? my car is a 05 6mt sedan

Yeah I've had this issue before as well. I'm sure all of us have. I generally have this when after the car has been washed or after if has rained. Not sure if thats a great answer, but seems to be the most common time the abs self-check kicks in.

Yes I've noticed that on my rides and assumed it was normal.

Me also. Once I hit the brakes hard while the self test was running (talk about bad timing)... I thought my foot was going to go through the floor.
