G vs. V
G vs. V
So, my boss just bought a Volvo V70 R. 300 hp, twin turbo... blah, blah. If we were to find a place to safely pit his V70 against my stock (so far) G 35 6MT, Sport/Aero package, who would come out on top. His is an "AutoStick," while I am pretty proficient at the manual. It's all friendly, but I was just wondering if a FORD STATION WAGON, could take the beasty G35.
Oh, I don't underestimate the car at all. I drove it. FAST SOB! Although, the turbo lag was noticeable when I stomped on the gas. But then... BAM, like a rocket. I actually was pushing for him to get it... it suits his lifestyle and is really understated in it's power.
Auto+boost = brake boost/no turbo lag. I'd watch out.
The KKK turbocharged in-line five is reportedly good for a 5.6-second 0-to-60-mph time, a claim that seemed entirely credible.
I LOVE these guages!

The guages on the V are damn cool. And the Sonic Blue paint is the best blue out there.
But it's still not a G.
And it's STILL a station wagon. A no-soccer-mom-holy-crap-thisaintyourdads-stationwagon. Wagon.

Still not a G? Now the G is damn nice. But come on. It's not god's gift to the automotive world.
Station wagon? There are more than a few wagons I wouldn't mind sporting. This is one. A BMW 540I sport wagon is another. Hemi Magnum would be cool too.

And I drove an A3, which was fun, but front wheel drive... Nope. Now if they made an S3, that I'd drive!

while I have seen one G35 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds, I think it would be hard to reproduce. His automatic is going to shift perfectly so you better not make any mistakes. The only way you'll get him is to get a better launch and try to hold it. in the end if you do win, it won't be by much.
