Transmission hiccups shifting from 2nd to 3rd
Seeking others' advice on a hesitant auto transmission shift from 2nd to 3rd gear. Under a moderately hard acceleration (such as coming out of a turn), as the revs climb in 2nd gear to about 3500-4500, as I let up on the pedal, the trans (in the auto mode) significantly "hiccups"/hesitates when making the shift from 2nd to 3rd. Under normal or light acceleration, at various times, there is a small "hiccup"/hesitation when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Anyone had the same experience?
This is a concern, because every review I read says that the trans is silky smooth. Am I just creating a difficult situation for the trans?

I have it too. When shifting from 1500 to 3500 rpms it is not smooth. Kind of hesitates then quickly shifts. I ahd it at dealer once for this but could not verify. When I get my 3K change done I am taking the service writer out for a ride.

Re: Transmission hiccups shifting from 2nd to 3rd
Hmmmmm..... with mine I would describe it more as a shudder between 2nd and 3rd while under moderate to heavy accelleration. From what I have read on the internet it seems like it may be torque converter shudder, at least in my case. Here is one link that describes it.

Re: Transmission hiccups shifting from 2nd to 3rd
I did a 24-hour battery disconnect (ECU reset), and I think it worked! The shift from 2nd to 3rd seems much better now; not perfect, but much better. I wonder if it will return to its previous state eventually.
