03 vs 05 sedan AC motor strength

For those that have driven both (I assume that us 03-04 guys that taken our cars for service would have more experience in this), notice that the blower motor is noticably stronger in the 05 vs their 03? I don't have another 03 around that I can sit in to compare so I don't know if this is normal or not.

In general, I would say the 05 is "correct" and has adequate power while the 03 (mine at least) is noticably weaker. ie.. 05 3 bar fan speed is like the 03 4bar speed.

If you guys haven't noticed a diff, maybe it's time to complain to the dealer.

I notice no difference between my 05 and Cheryl's 04.5. I know that doesn't help you, but I figured somebody (in the distant future) might be interested. If it's any consolation, in the bama heat, my a/c is damned near ineffective sometimes.

that's true

I had a 06 sedan as loaner, they not only have one more lever (blower speed)
but they are actullay putting out more flow..

yet, with regards to the compressor.. i dunno

My compressor is lightly modded, and I think I've gained about 25 FHP (that would be FAN HORSEPOWER) which is about 12 VHP (VENT HORSEPOWER) after figuring in the ducting loss. I have auto FAN CONTROLs. Manual FAN CONTROLs have less ducting loss, so with the same mods you'd probably be looking at about 17 VHP.

Hope this helps.

I have been happy with my 04 (blk/blk!) here in Phoenix and it has been 113 this year. If the 05 works even better I am jealous.

I don’t know if the '05 blows any harder - but I never need to have mine past 2 (3 at the most for about 2 minutes just to cool down car when it's been sitting in the sun, then back down to 2)... this is even in upper 80's-low 90's. If you need to turn fan to 4 or more - man that some hot @ss weather!!!

I have 04.5 BTW

For the next three months mine is only off high when my GF is in the car.
Yep, it's that hot.

Can't say I've noticed any difference between my 03 and the 05 loaner I've had. On the highest setting, my 03 sounds like the vents are throttling up for take-off. In the Kansas and Georgia heat and humidity, my black 03 was no problems keeping the car very cool. I'm quite impressed with the A/C in this car. When it's 85-90 degrees out, I usually have to keep the climate control at 77 to 80 to keep from freezing my wife and I.

Yup the original was never changed at 28k. I put a Nissan one in. There was really no difference. I really need to get into another 03.
