i like how low it dips it, when they are painted it makes it look like a body kit and it makes the lines off the front aero bumper look much better. I am not sure if you have the front aero, but i guess your idea is good if you have the stock front bumper. Otherwise i personally think the lines from the front to the side needed the help of the splash guards to hide the difference in height.
However cutting that half off will reduce the functionality of the guard, but hey form over function

well..it seems that I am buying the splash guards for form rather than function...
LOL
btw, I have the stock bumper..that's why I am thinking I should either have
1) only the rear splash guards, but paint matched
2) both fr nd rear splash guards, paint matched
3) both fr and rear splash guards, with the front cut to make it seat flush.and paint matched

i think you should just paint them and toss em on, the lines are designed to go with the stock bumper because they wont even fit on the aero sides.
I would just paint them and put them on unless you were going to go as far as bondoing where the splash guards meet the sills and then painting it all so it looks like one piece molded together. Unless you are going to go to those lengths it's probably going to look better uncut, not to mention how difficult it will be to cut that plastic smoothly and then how the texture will be different on the cut/sanded edge vs. the smooth injection molded side.
but this is all just speculation, won't really know until you try

Yep it's in my sig, that's short for signature, and that is the blue writing under all my posts on this thread, front tires then rear tires after the rims.

I guess I would now seek for a pair of front and rear 03-04 splash guards first..then go from there !
yet, do you think it will look akward if I only put the rears on?

Yeah i think it probably would. The splash guards looks much better IRL then in PICS, once you paint them and put them on i bet you will like them a lot.
