clanking noise as first is engaged....

car completely stopped, will hear this "clank clank" metal to metal noise when putting into first gear even with clutch pressed all the way down......really noticeable w/windows down.....engaging other gears are fine, only first............is there something possibly loose, like a nut or bolt down there that i can tightend down? need lubricants?

Is there any unusual resiatance going into 1st? You might want to replace your fliud and see if that helps.
