Ipod install and Satellite Prewire

Looking at the install manual for a satellite prewired 03 sedan, I found out that in the trunk there is a N-bus cable to which you connect the satellite tuner. The question, can I connect the Ipod docking station directly to that cable? If yes, this would simpfiy the installation since I would not need to take apart the dash.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks

Its probably a 03.5, but nonetheless, my car is satellite ready (based on the vin -I checked) with an install connection in the trunk, behind the seat. That wire plugs into the rear of the radio. So the question is, why not plug the iPod dock station directly into that wire? It should have both power and line inputs (see the pdf install file) since the only thing besides installing the SAT antenna and a grounding wire is connecting the Sirus player to it. There should be no need to connect directly to the rear of the radio (thereby taking apart the console/dash) other tan to minimize the wire run.

The adapters I have seen connects to the back of the radio with two connections, one to the SAT input (which you would have to disconnect the existing SAT wire) and another one for power which to me doesn't make sense to do if the SIRUS tuner is already receving power from that pre-install SAT wire.

Just my thoughts as I want to avoid taking apart the console.

Andrew
