Tailight crack

Pulled a bone head manuver...an aluminum bat fell off a rack in my garage and put a nice "star" crack in my right rear taillight. Taped over the crack temporarily but gotta get a replacement. Anyone gone thru this. Afraid to ask but how much? Can I replace it myself or is it dealer time. TIA for the help gang.

A FOOL AND HIS MONEY SOON GO RACING.

Re: Tailight crack

Ouch, I scared for you on the cost of a new tail light lens, gee I hope they sell just the lenes. I'd like to know cause I'm dying to mod the lens to expose the orange turn signal lenes that lurk below the red, ala like the skyline tail lights. But I'd only want to do it on a spare set of lenes.

Re: Tailight crack

Sorry...just got the message for some reason. You can HAVE the old tailight lens once I replace it (half dollar star crack in upper middle). You pay shipping ok? Email me shipping info @ tanthony@spectralink.com. Should get the replacement soon. Thanks for the how-to info!

Re: Tailight crack

Cost of new tailight....$304.34 + Tax. Thats just cost of the tailight, not labor to install (44.50...1/2 hr in Austin TX).

*snif*

Anyone have info (websites or phone numbers) of junkyards. I think I'll try that route before this route. If you have other suggestion (besides red tape...already have that covering the "star" crack) I would love to hear em. Thanks gang!
