Just brought my sedan in for 30K service...

and received an 04 g35X as a courtesy vehicle. the car is feels so much quicker than my 05 and is a blast to drive. i might just have to trade mine in for an 'x'

The X just indicates All-Wheel drive. I don't think there is any differance in HP.....but I could be wrong! Anybody with some further insight?

meh, it might feel quicker with the gearing and a better launch, but it also weighs more

I agree.

Didn't the 03-04 models have more torque (less hp)? That could be that butt dyno reading in action .
