Staggered Tires on sedan

Will putting staggered tires (225 front, 245 rear) on an 06 6MT sedan (stock 235/45/18) cause a problem with the VDC?

No it will not. It's been done 1,000,000,000+ times...or there abouts.

vdc it self is a problem. so changing the tires IS not going to make a difference.

Nope.
I have had 245's front and 275's rear with no problems.

You still haven't resolved what you're gonna go with?

You know that 245/40/19's fit on all fours...We PM'd each other a while ago & I see that you've made some posts on some other threads....so why would you ask if 225's and 235's fit on the front? Then ask if 245/40/19 fits on the front?

If you have a RWD sedan, the VDC is fine....staggered and non-staggered setups are fine & you'll have no issues.

On the stock 05-06 18" sedan sport rims has anyone had any problems with clearance using 245/45/18's all the way around? It looks like wider tires will hit the lip in the wheel wheels. I know that the 245 are barely rated for 7.5" rims but as we know their is a poor selection of 235 and why would I want to go smaller with 225.

245/45/18 all around will not be a problem. Far from it!

Chico, what size tires do you think I can put on my OEM 17x7's? I'm thinking 235/50/17 would be the max, but they don't offer that size for the tires I want: http://www.edgeracing.com/tire/1534/

They have them in 245/45/17- is that too low of a sidewall/too wide of a tire for the 17x7's?

You need to read the specs on each tire to see their rim width recommendations. Seems okay to me

Well, the OEM tires are 215/55/17. So you can go up two sizes in WITDH without any problems. So you can do 225/55/17 or the 235/50/17 which is a better fit (closest to OEM). Toyo T1R is your best bet 235/50ZR17 96Y PRODUCT CODE 546510

I need something stickier. I'm looking for dedicated autox tires, so the T1R's won't do (those are going on my other wheels though).

There are some folks on here running 245/45/17 on the stock 17x7 with no issues. I run them but on a 17x8 inch rim. I have had no issues with this size and there are many choices although some seem to be going away. Edgeracing has there MUSH sale going currently and it woyld be a perfect time to get your tires. I just bought some ST-115s to replace the Toyos...$85 is too cheap to pass up.
