Which lower portion is "unicolor" on the altima? The side skirts? I'm really confused...

If the G's all had black side skirts, that would look awful

Who was knocking the Altima???

I think the only point made here is that none the Altima and G35 body panels is interchangeable.

I thought the Altima was built on the same platform as the G, like the M and the maxima...g20 of old and sentra, pathfinder and Qx4, qx56 and armada...i thought the cars were basically the same and the real question i am askin is the altima and the infiniti were both new cars then why didnt they just make it unicolor like the altima was....its seems kinda dumb for them not to!

and all those who are suggesting that bmw and mb used to have the black lower sills, we all know those were the days when they were struggling...infiniti actually began to rise in the market when mb and bmw put those on cuz the infiniti were nice looking and fast as *****. I remember when i was little and my parents had some of the original q45's straight up beasts i think they 280+ hp back in the day which was rediculous the only thing faster was the s500 back then. but still its ugly and dumb why make the cheaper brand look classier and the classier brand look cheaper.... -1 for infiniti.

Just as an FYI... newer G35s have body-colour-matching rocker panels... in case you missed that.

Why don't you just paint yours instead of pi**ing and moaning about it???

Infiniti presently has no sharing with the altima or maxima platforms. The 350z, G35 coupe and sedan all come from the FM platform. The FX(some people think it's a rebadged murano) and M use a modified version of the FM platform.

G35/M35/FX/350z is the Front Midship platform (front engine perpendicularly lined up w/ the front wheels and rear wheel drive configuration)

Altima/Maxima/Murano FF-L platform (front engine in front of the wheels and front wheel drive)

i feel like i'm teaching a class

Wow... name calling... how mature.

I'm sure the original designers had planned-obsolescence in mind. Start the model off looking good, then keep the look 'fresh' by improving its looks throughout its model lifespan.

That's a little Marketing 101 for you... now settle down and don't have yourself a little stoke.

obvoiusly when it came out in '03 they were pushing it as european styling -- the BMW has a lot of plastic moldings as you can see and then the '03 G w/ the full aero kit was fully painted so people had a reason to pay the extra $2g's for a kit.

in '05 they painted everything to make it more of a coupe-like design.

other than that just be happy '05-up is all painted

okay schools in session

The Infiniti G20 is a Nissan Primera in Japan that uses the P10 and P11 chassis

The Nissan Sentra is just that, a Sentra. It uses a B11, B12, B13, B14, and B15 chassis. A lot of people mistakenly assume that the G20 is the sentra because the Primera was never marketed in the US.

You screwed up all platform sharing models. The only correct ones that you have is QX4/Pathfinder and Armada/QX56.

In Asia, Sentra is called Sunny. Like Shodog said, it is a total different animal from the Primera/G20. One major difference is that Sentra has 4 wheel struts while the G20 has front multi-link similar in design as the Z32 front suspension. The rear of the G20, I believe, is strut with lower parallel links.

Please don't tell people that our car is a rebadge Altima because it is not. Tell them either it is a 4 door Z or a Skyline 350 GT!!!

+1

I always say "4-door 350Z"... and trust me i know... my last car was a 350Z and the G35 gives the exact same driving experience (if a bit numbed/tamed).
