2006 loaner

2006 loaner
My 2004 is currently at the dealership for the 30K service, and I was surprised to get a 2006 as a loaner.
My first thought was that the visible improvements between the 04 and 06 are fewer than I believed. Some stuff is a little more refined, such as the clock location. The ability to support MP3 CDs.
One thing that suprised me was the little button on the back where you could open the trunk from the outside if the car was unlocked. I've had the car running before when I wanted to open the trunk, and had to go into the cab to use the switch there, since the FOB won't open it if the car is on or in accessory mode.
The leather was smoother on the wheel, and the controls were nicer, **** for radio and temp. But nothing dramatic, and I like the current feel of my steering wheel.
It was not quite a apples to apples comparison, since the loaner didn't have duel zone climate control, nor navigation system.
I guess it is too difficult to add too many new features to the G35 as long as it remains the low end of the line. Too much more, the price bumps up towards the M. If they hold the line on pricing, it canibalizes M sales.
Now, if they fixed a couple niggling issues in my current car, such as the tire monitor that occasionally signals even when the tires are all within .5 PSI of each other, in the 29.5-30psi range. And the HVAC needing to be reset occasionally because it decides it is actually 8-15 degrees cooler outside than it really is.

Test out the rev limiter and you'll be surprised.

seems to me like you are just used to your car and if someone who owned an 06 and had never been in an 04, and then got an 04 loaner they could probably say just as many, if not all the same things, just the little nuances you get used to on your specific vehicle.
I love my 03 but i would much rather have an 06 with 60000 less miles

I'm seeing that I'm accustomed to some little features of the Premium package. I had difficulty with the lights last night, since the auto feature wasn't working. The car doesn't have auto headlights
Also, this morning the lights didn't go off quickly. Last night, I must have left them on, though they do go off eventually.
