Re: G35 VS IS300
I've had no experience with either. From what I've read on the forums I'd lean toward turbo, seems price is better too. One supercharger I have seen is on the Ford Lightning F-150. If memory serves is was a WHipple(sp?) charger but sat on the top of engine. Need lots of space for it. What would be nice is the Twin Turbo on the 350Z in the pics Rumble posted of the Tokyo Auto show(Tech forum I think). They tuck nicely away down each side for a neat package.
So long as the fit was good, I'd go with whichever one gave better throttle responce down low. For the G I'd have to go with what Nissan covered with warranty. Hopefully this Spring/Summer.

Re: G35 VS IS300
Thats exactly my take. I dont really konw if i want to void my warrenty at this point. From rumors the SC will be from Nismo (R-Spec) and will be covered, however they will not offer a Turbo (covered under warrenty)..

Re: G35 VS IS300
Any details on the SC that R-spec will offer? Is it the same one we saw on the Z back in the summer that required hood mods?. I don't want any hood mods, but for a reasonable cost AND provided it boosted low rpm hp & torque by at least '50' I would deffinitely be interested!
You get a nifty whine from a SC................

Next June after the initial excitement 'tones down a bit' it would be nice to strap on 50 more ponies for a little extra boost of adrenalin. Then later on 50 more.
I love this car man. it's a winner.

Re: G35 VS IS300
I think they're adjustable aren't they? Depends on pulley size, impeller speed etc. I'm only guessing, cuz I've not had anything to do with forced Induction. :P) Heck if I have to have 80 instead of 50 , they could probly twist my arm. haha. Biggest thing is Nissan sanctioning and warranty. If we've got that you can bet it's done right and is reliable.
Any ideas on price? Up here in Canada some years ago they were talking about $3k for forced induction. No doubt more today. Another thing is electronics: As I understand it, you need to retard timing with higher compression engines and wouldn't be able to use very much boost.
Maybe the engine can take some F/I without much modification. Have to wait and see what Nismo offers.
