Well ... A lot of good responses.
I agree about the lease w/texan1.Iam about to finish (3 months left) w/a nissan Altima SL ,paying 411 (tax incl) w/15K miles a year, already 5 K miles pased the limit.Feel like driving a taxi...every mile that goes by is 15cts out of my pocket.
For az1anbeethoven,about prices i dont know what prices you pay in your neck of the woods
This is South Florida. There a lot of cars around here as well as many lemons so you have to be aware no to get cought in the numbers wars.
Because you easily can fall for a deal like this:
2004 g35 8672 miles premium pckge $24,988.
nice deal if you like carsfrom key west taken to the auction and repainted.
Perhaps a comparison apples to apples in the same condition and location will be more acurate.

ok either way you're going to get bored of the car in 3yrs anyway. what are you going to do keep it forever?
your porsche example was really lame. you can still finance the car and pay 1400 over 5 yrs.
lease or buy, he basically messed up with the purchase
i mean who gets a g35 and doesnt get one package on it and worst of all an 04 with 30k miles for that price.

Concerning the price of his car, it's all dependant on where he lives. Here in Atlanta I'd be lucky to get $18-19K for my loaded (non-Nav) 03 with 39K miles. In Kansas City I could easily get $22-23K for the car. In Atlanta, G35s are everywhere and in Kansas City they are very rare. Supply and demand, fellas.
As for auto on/off headlights, auto dimming mirror, and entry lights, my 03 has all of that. The auto dim mirror and auto headlights were part of the Premuim package in 03/04. As for the interior lights turning on upon unlocking the car, I'd think even a base model with keyless should kick on the interior lights. That's something I'd get checked out by the dealer. You might also want to verify all the interior lights are on the correct settings.

Not to hijack a thread, but it irritates me to hear people make an un-educated blanket statement about leasing. I assume 90% of you know what i'm talking about...so this is for the other 10%.
People who don't like leasing, or call it "a waste of money" are the ones who get talked into a lease they couldn't live up to - and paid the penalty. If you sign a lease that fits your usage, you'll be fine. Whether you lease and pay 450/month and give it back, or buy and pay 800/month with equity at the end...it's basically a wash. Me, i didn't want to pay "extra" every month just get some portion of it back at the end as equity. And then have that equity sitting in a car that's now out of warranty.
If you spend the time to learn how it works, and negotiate a deal that fits your usage, and stay within the limits of the contract...leasing is just fine.

No deal.
Back to square one.On the market for new one i was quoted ona 2006 with premiumC @$31739.00 car at 31559+200 to dealership.(+or - 100 or 200).
Other dealer with 750 dealer fee
, quote me on the same type of car at $33.500 OTD on the mouth.
Walk out.
A nice 2005 with the "C" PAckage and 27K miles showed up in my former Lexus Dealer.(funny Edmunds list every single item not as package.)
How much , do you ,educated members of this forum , should i offer for this beauty?
All things considering clean carfax, the car is really clean,Good year tires tough, with average use ....
Again thanks for your kind responses....

Today,I purchased a 2004g35 with 32.5K miles.Clean interior(black)silver color,5spoke wheels.heated seats, bose system,no sun roof,no spoiler.New tires.Good brakes at front so-so in the back.Price 21500.00 +++, OTD 23450.00.
I think is the base model, and driving at night noticed few things i don't really like:
1-No automatic driving lights.
2-No automatic lights shut -off
3-No night time driving adjustable mirror .(No glare).
4-No interior light when car is open by remote.
My previous ride was an Altima SL and these features were standard options.
As you can see i am a creature of the night,i do a lot of driving at nightime.I do love the xenon lights though.
Now the question/s:
What do you think of the price?
Is any newer model or package that will have the features this car lack of.(2005 or 2006)?
I love the way the car drives, engine noise, stereo is ok, but the night time lights and mirror are very important to me.
Please excuse this obvious questions

Thank you for yout response. I priced the car with every single option on Edmunds i got trade in $22470,private party $24339 and retail $26070. So i guess your calculations are acurate . I am here in South Florida.

No dual climate control as i can see, and is not an X.
Any newer (05 or 06) owners that can tell me if these options are standard or part of what package....
Thank you

Part of a lease is dependent on how much you drive, and how long you plan to keep it.
In September I'll have had mine for 3 years, and I'm not tired of it yet. With a 3 year lease, I would either be having to plan to buy it off lease, or go with a new model and go through the depreciation again.
The new 2006s weren't a big enough improvement for me to do this.
If you can afford to get a new car every 2-3 years, or get tired of cars fast, then leasing can make sense since at least you don't have to worry about trade in values, etc, when you get a new car.
Of course, if there are any little problems that start getting on your nerves, you may be less willing to keep your car 6 years
