Why did they cut it to put in the big trim ring that sticks out?!?

Here is how I did mine:

 

Yeah, wow. What's up with that trim ring? You could have just re-drilled in the bracket to set it further into the dash.

 

I sat in another G today with the same dash color. He also wants a DD kit so I need to get him the info.

Also is the bracket needed? I have done two DD kits; one on my 04 and one on an 06, neither needed it. Both were non-nav.

 

i looked at japanparts.com and i think that is the right part number. couldnt i take that number to the infiniti dealership and have them order it for me? if not what is the quickest way to get that piece only.

 

The trim ring just snaps on. I didn't cut anything for the trim ring. I like the look better with the trim ring than without it. I guess to each his own thing. Those are the correct numbers and no you don't need the bracket all I ordered was the DD trim and the A/C unit

 

Just email Yoshi like I said it took a total of about a week and half. I doubt if you will get it any quicker then that because you have to get it from japan. I checked with Grubbs when I was first doing it and they told me that the DD doesn't even come in willow. Put you can try maybe they have the correct part# now

 

So, do you just reuse the factory bracket off of the original H/U to secure the new double din?

Yes. The couple I have done did not need the iso bracket but we got them anyway to be safe.
