If you're looking for something similar in price to the G, there are tons of options. At the top of my list are the Acura TL, and Lexus ES. You can probably look at some of the entry level mercedes, Audi's and bmw's but you probably won't be able to get as many options under 35K as you can with the G. Volvo S60 R's are good too although the interior seems really cheap.

Cadillac CTS, Nissan Maxima, and Lexus IS are fine cars to look at too. You could also go the used car route and start looking at some better BMW's, Acura RL's, Infinity M's, Audi A6's.

For me, it was a tough decision between the G35 and the Acura TL. I got the G because of the better handling and performance. I like the Acura's interior better though

I don't plan on replacing my G sedan soon, but since you asked, I would say a Lexus IS250 auto with Navi and Mark Levinson sound. I wouldn't want a IS350 because it is too expensive for me and it doesn't give me a reason why I need to replace my G with something so similar to its fuel economy and torque output.
