haven't bought a new car in ages but this is the one car i lust after. i got carsdirect at 27,800 for a 2004 with cloth, splash guards and that silly trunk mat + space saver tire. i am trying to keep costs down and not all that crazy for leather anyway.

can i do better?

Re: should i?

Just a quick FYI-- not getting leather now will significantly hurt the resale value of your car, if you plan to sell it later. The few K you drop now will net more than its fair share down the road.

That being said-- if you don't have any debts to take care of before buying youself a toy, then... you should This car is pure joy wrapped in bliss.

Where are you located? That's probably the biggest determinant of how much you'll end up paying. Good luck,

G

Re: should i?

i'm in NJ. i think leather brings it in at around 29,400. i've seen low miles '03 for low 30's. i guess adding a sunroof and all drives up the price...

Re: should i?

You have a lot of Infiniti dealers in your proximity, I did a search on my old 19030 zip code, and came up with quite a few dealers, unlike here, I think there is only one in the state, so you should be able to make some sort of deal!

Re: should i?

before you buy from cars direct, call gil coronado at douglas infiniti, he's in summit nj (it's not far from 287, 78, tpke).

when i bought my 04 coupe, i got 1250 off msrp which was unheard of at the time. tell him andy gave you the info. he has helped out others.

i orig tested car at ray catena's but they wouldn't budge in price.

Re: should i?

You should be able to do better. I got leather and sunroof for $28,880on my 03.5 G. $27,800 and no sunroof or leather? Maybe you should get the Altima instead - atleast it would be loaded!!!!!!!

Re: should i?

We have none here, just one Infiniti dealer in the state and it's not a large dealer by any means, that keeps prices up for sure! I am sure with that many dealers in such close proximity you did well, do they all have big inventory?

Re: should i?

most have AT sedans in inventory. usually one or two AT coupes. MT's, sedan or coupe, do not stay in inventory. they are either ordered, or if ordered for inventory, sold off the order sheet before they get there.

Re: should i?

They blew through the '03's at the local dealer quite quickly, there was only one on the lot when I went to test drive, but I didn't even inquire since I didn't like the color combination, but it disappeared quickly too!

Re: should i?

i printed out stuff from edmunds and car.com and noticed that carsdirect.com's invoice prices are inflated by a few hundred bucks!

i've bought cars by offering to buy at invoice (worked once) and at 400 over for a passat. i guess if they are hungry they will do the deal...
