well, when i bought my 05 sedan, it only came with 1 key and a remote. i want to get an extra set made but was wondering if i needed to buy a specific key with a chip in it or not? i just bought an oem remote from ebay, so it should be arriving at my house this week.

all i have is the sport package, and no premium pkg. so does that make a difference? can i just go to any locksmith and have a copy of my keys made and have it work on the car? or will i have to buy one from the dealer or can i buy a blank key off of ebay too?

 

from what i know you can buy the key of ebay and get it cut at a dealer...or find a locksmith who cuts the specific key...and get it prgramed at the dealer.. hope that helps

 

There is a diy in the diy section on the key you can get it programmed by your locksmit save you some money..You can also buy the generic ilco brand of key (they actually make the infiniti key)
