Anyone other X owners find the front end noisier then it "should" be at speed?

I can't tell if it is the tires or the front diff or something, I am pretty sure its the tires since I can really only hear it above a certain speed. I first thought it was just engine noise but when I put the car into N I can hear the humming noise and it does not change with engine RPM, just with speed. The tires are Goodyears but I don't recall the exact model and I don't hear the noise from the rear but maybe it's because they are way in the back and I just can't hear them.

Could it be the front diff?

 

You pretty much isolated the noise to the tires when you dropped it into N and the noise remained constant. Performance tires get noisy as they wear, some more so than others.
