Get the AWD. I love RWD but you're looking for a winter car not a summer performance. You won't see that much performance difference between RWD and AWD in normal weather. In winter weather AWD will walk all over RWD. Plus it sounds like you already have a great RWD car.

Go with the black on black. RWD is more fun.

okay guys, I checked out the AWD, they are not really budging on the price and I wasnt really feeling the color anyways (it's like a "dusty" or beige-ish silver). Interior was pretty clean, but I think I'm I would prefer black. Tomorrow I check out the RWD and I know they will get me a GREAT deal....better then any other dealership. If everything looks good, and we can work out a deal, I'll have a G35 by next week and a set of blizzaks. I think there are quite a few stereotypes on RWD vehicles. With traction control and winter tires, I think I'll be more then fine. I mean seriously, how many BMW's do I see year round? The funny thing is that on the "euro" car sites, most of them recommend RWD.

Here in Phoenix awd is a waste. Now up in the bad weather areas I would go with the awd.

I picked the black/black, cuz I think silver is played out, and tan is ew.

But if I was going for a commuter, I'd get the AWD. Basically, keep looking until you find a black on black X.

I went for the RWD, although I prefer the AWD for the wife to drive. The black appears to be Infiniti CPO, which should carry a good warrenty package with it. If you feel comfortable with good winter tires in Chicago, and don`t mind the PITA to keep the black looking good, go for it! I think the AWD is Desert Platinum. Different, but not too bland. My wife picked ours. Goes well with my bright red Ram DD!

Get the X. There's no point getting a RWD "winter" car. Totally defeats the purpose. I wouldn't get the tan interior though, it looks cheap. Wait around for black or stone interior.

I live in Chicago...The actual city, not one of the burbs. And I have a Black on Black G35 sedan..6mt. Do our winters suck..yes..do we get tons of snow..sure for about a day till the city clears it from the roads. As far as ice, just drive carefully. I think as long as you are smart and know when to avoid driving you should be fine with the RWD and some snow tires. Its not like everyone has an SUV or AWD here either...so if they can manage..you should be fine as well. The only word of advice...dont park on the side of the street during a storm..pay the 20+ bucks to garage the G and avoid getting plowed in.

I voted for the RWD, then I read that you live in Chicago, IL and this will be your winter car. So, I'm changing my vote to the AWD, you'll need it. I've seen the snow you get up there.

I did exactly the same thing. I would like to retract my vote. If a winter car is what you want, look around until you find an X in a color you like. I am down in TX so there are no such things as winter cars and AWD is useless for the most part.

Either way, your second car will be a lot nicer than mine (1991 Ford Ranger).
