Questions and Answers to the Gods...AKA Ttrank

You were right about 04's vs' the 05's and 06's regarding horsepower... are you always right about everything G35??? Anyway my buddy and I dyno'd our cars, i have and 04.5 and he has an 06. The difference was 1 pony, so I just had to give you a heads up because you said the 04's were underrated and I doubted you, but you were right. Probably because of the ghey 03/04 muffler! Have you noticed too that the 05/06's rev higher at 60mph?? kinda weird.

You the man.

LOL!!

Thanks for the results. I would like to see the dyno's if you have time to post them.

I didn't know the newer ones rev higher. That's odd since the gearing is the same. I know the AT and 6MT are different but that's because they are not geared the same. How far off was it?

And to think, everyone said I was full of crap when I said the pre-05 cars were underrated. For me it was easy to tell something was a miss because the 03/04 cars were posting the same types of ETs/MPHs as the 05+ cars and the 03/04 280 5at coupes didn't dyno any higher than the 260hp 5at sedans.

well of course a lot of the coupe/newer models increase HP on paper was totally a marketing ploy. I'm sure the manuel cars will be higher just because they are geared differently. It was funny to see the 100-150 increase in revs at the same speed though, i wonder if it was just his car or my car but it was obvious. Maybe that's why the MPG is less on 2005+ models

The difference in revs and speed might be from the tachometer, on my car its off by 200-300 rpm (it shows higher than it actually is). I’m sure every car has some margin of inconsistencies in terms of rev accuracy.

Could also be related to tire diameter.

03 doggie door sedan has always been lower in power than the 03.5 and 04+ Sedans.

This topic proves nothing except a 04 vs a 06.

My car redlines at 7,400 RPM as I just found out on 3 occasions when I shifted late and I didn't hit a rev limiter so thats cool. I rather have a lower rev band though to get the power.

No you just have a fast track. Others have proven this since 03.

Like BossSho and his 03 5AT sedan that did 14.2s with an intake or AudibleMayhem in his 03 5AT sedan that did 14.2s stock?

Kansas City International Raceway is fast? News to me because every other car I've owned and run out there has never posted anything remotely close to what others have done with the same mods and at different tracks. On average, I was always .2-.3 seconds and 2mph slower. When I ran my old Z28 at Houston Raceway Park, I was .3 and 3mph faster than I was at KCIR and I was running in hotter conditions at Houston too

Oh well, it's not worth arguing about. Think what you want.
