Especially when we the same last name, I really don't wanna see you drain financially, but paying $55k for a $36k car is not very smart.

Save some cash first for down payment, or buy a cheaper car man
if you must know then your not ready yet lol jk i make a decent amount. exactly what i was thinking 55 for a 40k car is like o.O???? haha we asian were supposed to know our math :P but i think ill drop 10-15k for this sucker.

I would get a co-signer, but maybe this article will help you.

And they wonder why they call this new generation "Young, fabulous, & BROKE"! Funny to see some of these guys driving their $50K cars living at home with Mommy. LOL! Milk it for as long as you can, or until they kick and cough up the inheritance.

Ok - I don't know where you live but you can get a LOT better financing through the Associated Credit Union located in Atlanta, GA. They will pre-approve you over the phone and send you a check for whatever amount you want. The only catch is that with the interest, they will only cover up until the MSRP of the car. The rest you will have to put down cash!

Here's the thing man - if you can get pre-approved, you have got TREMENDOUS buying power as others have stated. You can go to the dealer and tell him that you are going to buy the car CASH! As in the check preapproved from the credit union. You will SIGNIFICANTLY increase your chances of walking out of there with that G35 for $40,000 if not $41,000 at least. And if you wait another month until December year-end - you definately got yourself a deal.

Trust me - I did the same thing and pretty much walked away with a better deal than I had originally planned. The sales' manager's preception of the deal changes when he/she hears CASH!

Good luck man - here's the website for the 4.9% http://www.acuonline.org

But by the looks of it i think ill probably drop 10or 15k for a down on this car.
so you need someone to co-sign on the loan because your income and credit history don't support the loan payment. And your family credit score is not that great (bringing you down in the process), this is probably signal #1 you shouldn't be buying this car right now. From the car dealers perspective you are the perfect buyer, one who buys with their heart rather than their head.

You say you want to buy a home, now that is a worthy cause. Why not figure out how to buy the home first, and then worry about buying a car. You'll credit score/history will improve and you won't need someone to co-sign on the loan.

I working in the banking industry and I can completely back up what others are telling you....if you can't afford to do this on your own (ie. w/o others co-signing) you really need to rethink this transaction. 9.99% is way up there even for a 72 month loan. Most new car loans in the St Louis (where I am)area are down in the 6-7% range for those with decent credit and I think that most major metro areas would be close to that. You are digging a financial hole you won't get out of for a long time. Remember, even if you do not keep the car the full 72 months and pay it off...chances are that you will be 'upside-down' when you go to trade in or sell it. By that, I mean you will owe more that the car would be worth.
Why not consider a nice 'pre-owned' G that is a couple of years old with low miles ..you know they will be out there as ppl trade in for the 07 G. You could get one for 1/2 of the cost of that 07.
Just my two cents.

BTW...put that $10,000 to $15,000 into an appreciating asset (A HOUSE) rather than a depreciating asset (A CAR.) You will get more out of it in the long run.

Hey remember you can haggle interest rates just like you can haggle the price of the car.

wow thanks for all the help guys. i think im going to go with the house first and then well talk about the car later. ill read into those websites and see what i can do. Btw i live in the Rowland Heights Area. and i currently own a 2005 g35. only reason im getting rid of it is becuase that car is sheer bad luck lol. Got into 3 accidents. and 2 of them was when i was stopped at a red light. -_- dam asian drivers in that area lol. talked to the dealer and he said he was going to lower my interest rate a bit. ill try the CASH thing and see what i get lol.

guys,

I just ordered an lakeshore slate 07 G35 sedan Sport (Tech/Navi/premium). I leased it from a dealership in Northern NJ. I got it for $37,200, with 2k down and 551/month for 39 months. I called a bunch of places, that's the best deal I could get. I also traded in my 04 G coupe (loaded w/ 20k miles), the sad part is they only gave me $23,500.....b@st@rds.

On a side note, the car is sick....
