How different is the Coupe from the Sedan?
How different are the cars? Body? Electrical? Engine? Etc? Why do some performance parts say coupe only?
What about exhaust? Is the coupe really that different or is it just shorter?

first off, coupe has 2 doors and sedan has 4
(sorry, had to say it)
there are lots of aftermarket parts that will fit both
such as plenums, plenum spacers, intakes, test pipes, high flow cats, etc
however, exhaust systems for the coupe wont fit the sedan and vice versa because it just doesnt work that way...the coupe exhaust literally wont fit because of how the sedan is designed. or so i was told.
however, many sedans use coupe midpipes to save weight and for the enhanced sound.
the interior is the same iirc
and yeh

Up to 2004 (not including some 2005 models that were sold as 2004), the coupe had more power than the sedan. I don't remember the exact numbers, but you can look on edmunds.com
2005-6, the power is the same. The sedan also weighs about 100 lbs less (so roughly 0.1 seconds in the 1/4 mile time faster if it was just purely a matter of power to weight).
2007, the sedan has more power, since it is a new model using the VQ36HR engine, which outputs SAE correct (the 2006 and older numbers are not) 306 horsepower and does 0-60 to in 5.2-5.3 seconds (the previous coupe and the sedan have tended, judging from magazine ratings -- sorry to act like a mag racer -- to get 5.5 to 6.1 seconds 0-60 times; 5.8 is probably the more realistic number I've seen). Basically the new sedan is all new, the coupe is a carry over. 2008 will see a new coupe.
Otherwise, as far as performance is concerned, the coupe also has (optional) the 4-HICAS all-wheel steering, 19" staggered rims (which will also fit a sedan, but are not an option on the sedan). The seats are also "sportier". The coupe is also wider.
Overall, they're both excellent vehicles. The coupe looks drop dead gorgeous, performs on par with several vehicles that are twice its price, while being a very comfortable grand tourer. The sedan performs like the sports cars and GTs of just a few years ago if not today (eg 2004 and older Ford Mustang GT, present Mazda RX-8), while being a very comfortable, family-friendly sedan (if you have a family).
What should you get? The reason I chose a sedan is that since it was a 2006 model, I was able to get an incredible deal on it. The coupe, given the high amount of demand for it in my area, didn't seem to be as attractive to me price-wise and short of more aggressive looks (and 4-HICAS) offered no real advantage that I would consider; however that is an entirely subjective choice, but be aware, that when you begin to option you the coupe, you are getting fairly close to the BMW 335 price-range (if you can find 335 coupe that's optioned the way you want), whereas you could easily get a 2006 sedan (if there are any left now) for the price that some people pay for Honda Accords or Toyota Camrys.
Basically, pick whichever you'd like: you can't go wrong with either the coupe or the sedan.

The published HP numbers are not holding true on a dyno. The 260hp and 280hp engines dyno within a couple hp of each other so even on the older ones the power is about the same.
The coupe weighs a little more than the sedan. The difference is more on the older years, the 05 and 06 are pretty close but the sedan is still a little less.
The coupe exhaust has two mufflers as where the sedan has one. Unfortunately, you can't add the coupe's exhaust to the sedan without major mods (or I would have a Ti HKS right now!).
The coupe's seats are way better (trust me) but can be installed in a sedan with a little work.

On the older ones, handling is very different between the coupe and sedan. Sedan is much more comfortable but has too much roll. Coupe is significantly better stock but a grand will help a lot with the suspension. Also, the auto tranny on the older sedans (pre 2004.5) wasn't a real manumatic but a top gear selector. They went to the coupe program in 04.5.
