2006 Civic Si
2006 Civic Si
Had a run with a 2006 Civic Si the other day. Not sure if you want to call it street racing as it was in a private not public road without intersections. Anyway, From the start with me using the braketorque method to about 2500-2700 not sure, I was able to pull about a half car from the start. After that I pulled another half car or a bit more after second gear with him not making a pull on me or myself not creating a bigger gap. He was about 2-3 feet from my rear bumper for what seems to be a bit less than 1/4 of a mile. Does this sound about right with the this kind of car?. I thought he was going to make up the advantage I had at the start but didn't see that, I only heard his engine scream (nice sound though) . I have a 2005 a/t sport sedan.

sounds about right since you had the extra weight of a passenger and he didnt, seeing how he already has the clear weight advantage and only 70hp less at the crank.

they can be quick too, especially if the Si driver is familar with the VTEC engine and keeps the revs up. My neighbor owns a stock 06 Si and it runs in the high 15's at the track, where the G should run in the mid to low 14's, so not much of a competition
The new Si's trap around 94mph stock and that motor also responds very well to modifications. From a roll a lightly modded Si would give an older stock automatic G35 a good run. Though just mod up the G35 a bit and you'll be all set
