They came on when I turned my lights on. Is this hard to re-wire? Will my dealer do this?

No, the reflectors to the front must be either amber or white. And yes, they must be amber when illuminated, whether its amber under clear or clear under amber. The CA vehicle code can be difficult to sift through if you're not familiar with how it's organized. I've checked out the DMV's online version. It's heavily abridged and leaves out a lot.
