2005 I-Key key light

I have noticed lately that the green key light blinks for a bit after I start my G, I don't know if this is something new, or if I just never noticed it before, anyone else?

Mine does the same. I believe it is just indicating to you that it is properly reading the signal from the key. If you try to turn the car on without the fob in range a light flashes yellow or red (I can't remember which).

EDIT - By the way, have you settled into the new house (I saw the outside pics in one of your other threads).

Oh, then maybe it's normal, I guess I never noticed it before. Well, I'm sort of settled in the house, still have some things to do, but they can wait until after Christmas, glad I bought this place!

Well, if I had taken a minute to look in the manual, I'd have found that the blinking green key light is an indicator of the battery in the I-Key unit being low, so, for future referrence I'll know what it means. I didn't think it had been doing that all along, doesn't do it with my extra fob! LOL, of course, it recommends having the dealer change the battery, I wonder if that's valid, if maybe the key has to be reprogrammed after a battery change, hmmmm.

Hmmm, I guess I need to repace my fob battery since mine is doing the same thing. Sorry about the bad advice, I should have looked at the manual too.
