Santa brought me a sportster, which has the obvious benefits of full menu screen etc, which if I did the factory sat. receiver would not. The obvious down side is a clean looking install(hopefully) and preferably maintaining steering wheel controls. I have searched the forum and saw a couple wiring harness options, has anyone used the swi-x and does it really allow steering wheel functions to change the sat.ch. where can I pick one up. Also has anyone figured a clean install for this(other than the cupholder). It seems like it would be perfect under the storage door above the climate control, but it appears to require the docking station to function(and that makes it not fit!).

Any input would be appreciatted.

I am going to mount my sportster where the navi would go. When you flip up the storage lid it will be mounted to it. I will try to get pics when I get it done. It should look clean and nobody would know I had it, besides the little antena.

 

I am leaning that way as well, however it doesn't seem the doccking station will fit, is there a way(adapter plug of some kind/wiring harness) not to have to use the docking unit. I was thinking of mounting to the underside of the flip up with some industrial velcro, but the docker seems to be an issue!

 

Please post pics once completed as I'm doing my Sirius install after January 1 and want it done the same way. Thanks!!
